As Americans, we are constantly bombarded by day to day life. We find it hard to gain moments of clarity and peace. Within this constant cycle it can be so hard to focus on yourself. To choose you and make sure that your body is being taken care of. Then, when we do decide that its time to get checked out. Maybe something isn’t feeling right and you need to see the doctor for surely, they’ll help. We are met with a quick paced solution to our issues there as well.
This is where we find the distinction of holistic health versus primary care. Through holistic health we are able to take our time, breathe again, and find long term solutions to your issues. It is empowering to wake up and take your health into your own hands. The modern medicine system does a lot of things correctly, do not get me wrong. But I do believe most situations need a more well rounded approach. We should not be given medications left and right for issues that can be fixed by changing our lifestyles. Holistic health includes a wide range of options that I will begin to explain.
- Diet Changes: It is very surprising to find out how much diet changes can help you feel. Eating over-processed, sugary, chemical rich foods is not how we are supposed to live. Eating a diet that takes us back to our roots is a game changer for your health and how you feel.
- Physical activity: Exercise is highly important, even if you don’t like it. You don’t need to run a marathon or lift weight 7 days a week to feel a difference. It is also not about being fit and looking great. It about feeling better. Moving your body is always a way to reward your body. We have become so sedentary and that needs to change.
- Non-Toxic Living: Cutting out harmful products can save your body a lot of stress and irritation. Using clean products for your personal hygiene, cooking utensils, laundry, and cleaning can help cut out harmful chemicals that we should not be absorbing into our bodies.

Herbal Medicine: We should use the medicine that has been provided to us. Herbs are a great option for man issues. I use them constantly and will never stop recommending them. Every herb is different and is used for different things. You can use them in so many different ways as well. Teas, tinctures, syrups, salves, sprays, and more. I truly think that the usage of herbs can help you achieve a healthier life.
Examples: Teas, Tinctures, and Syrups. - Supplements: These are a fantastic way to incorporate things you would not usually get in your diet. Food choices should always be the number one choice but if you are lacking these nutrients because you do not like the foods they are in, supplements are a great option. Examples: Vitamins, Herbs, Minerals, and More.
- More: There are lots of holistic health practices that can be incorporated into your life. Some of these include massage therapy, acupuncture, castor oil packs, and grounding.
People are beginning to realize that not everything is in the scope of modern medicine. That field does amazing things where disease and emergencies are concerned. My only worry is that we rely on medication and quick fixes too much for less serious issues. Your lifestyle is where you can set yourself up for success or failure. Using clean ingredients for cooking, taking care of your body by exercising, and incorporating herbs, supplements, or other practices to achieve optimal health should be the standard. We are capable of so much more than taking pills and ignoring the root cause of the issues. Holistic health is meant to take care you as a whole instead of putting bandaids on your symptoms.
